“I work to build a respectful, trusting environment where clients feel confident and safe discussing their issues. The therapeutic relationship itself--how well the therapist and client relate--is the single most important predictor of successful therapy. Therefore, I am especially mindful of building this relationship by listening carefully to each client's unique needs and goals, and involving clients in decisions about their therapy. This helps clients feel more confident and empowered as they move toward change. I have discovered that many people find this approach to therapy enjoyable and fulfilling, even when their initial issues are very distressing.

My approach is "prescriptive," meaning I draw on my experience with a variety of psychological methods and tailor them to address specific individual concerns. I listen to what your issues are, make suggestions, listen again, and work with you to help you find clarity--and follow through on your decisions.

Accessibility is a key element of my practice. I offer flexible scheduling, including evenings and Saturdays. My office is also wheelchair accessible. I am particularly committed to making mental health care equally available regardless of financial means, offering a sliding fee scale when insurance coverage is an issue.”
